There's a striking negative correlation between passage length and comment numbers. The shorter a blog is, the more comments it gets.
I think that correlation is a trend applicable to the majority of teenagers, one may even claim to the majority of 18-24 year-olds. If people want responses, they should shut up faster. This is why the young voting demographic is statistically the most likely not to vote. Politicians ramble pretty frequently, so they create long speeches that simply don't elicit as much feedback because of the Speech-Comment Negative Correlation Especially Applicable to Younger Voters Principle (SCNCEAYVP) (seen-see-ah-why-vip) detailed in paragraph one (1). If concerned American historians and citizens want more of the nation to get involved, politicians need to realize that they're boring to listen to most of the time and stop talking much more quickly.

Jordan, this blog was pretty interesting to me. What you said about the shorter the blog is the mjore people comment is very true. And this correlation may work as well for voting. While politicians maybe should make things more entertaining I do not think they should risk losing quality to make it shorter. If someone does not care enough to listen then maybe they shouldn't vote. I'm not saying they don't have the right to; but, if they do not want to be informed and do not want to vote that is theire choice.
I find it very interesting that if the blog is shorter, it would get more comments, but I guess if you think about it, teenagers don't like reading as much as they used to. So, any passage that is short will be much more desirable to read. I'm guessing that's why there is a correlation between the two
haha, that explains why no one ever comments on my blogs... they're too long!
Interesting--if political candidates played into the 18-24 year old's ADD attitude they may just procure more votes. Never thought of it that way, thanks.
good point! politicians need to learn how to relate to the younger audience if they want their vote just as you shortened your blog which made me read it which led me to commenting on it.
